His inauguration followed a landslide victory in the December 7, 2024, general elections. In his address, Mahama acknowledged the critical role of the youth in shaping the nation’s future. “This resounding victory is a clarion call, especially from the youth of Ghana. It is a powerful affirmation that your voices matter and that your future must be our priority,” he declared. The president emphasized that the job creation agenda would be pursued in collaboration with the private sector and business leaders to ensure sustainable outcomes. “Our policies will be tailored to sustain innovation and foster an industry that engages today’s young minds. We will create decent and well-paying jobs in collaboration with the private sector and captains of business,” Mahama assured. The president outlined four strategic pillars that will guide his administration’s agenda: Mahama also reassured businesses and investors of Ghana’s readiness to support economic growth by creating a fair and predictable business environment. “We will rationalize our tax systems to make them fair and transparent. The business community must know that Ghana is open for business again,” he stated. He further pledged to implement a transparent tax regime that balances government revenue generation with private sector growth. The president expressed optimism about the country’s economic potential and the resilience of its people. He called on all Ghanaians to unite and support his administration’s vision for growth, innovation, and prosperity. Mahama’s emphasis on collaboration, accountability, and innovation underscores his commitment to addressing unemployment, enhancing governance, and positioning Ghana as a competitive player in the global economy.
